Galatians 2:20 - Simply Stated

Amazing GRACE Encounter

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ – Acknowledging my personal need for a Savior, I denounce my belief in myself, my ability to accomplish anything good, and my unbelief in God, and wholly trust (believe) in His accomplishments on my behalf, namely His finished work on the cross for the forgiveness of my sin(s) and His resurrection from the dead for my eternal life.

Nevertheless I live – I still breathe, eat, sleep, think, see, walk, speak, touch, feel, and relate as a human creature; but now I have purpose. I am the reason He came. I am the reason He died. I am the reason He lives. Now I have a reason to live - and this life is just the beginning.

Yet not I, but Christ lives in me – This earth-life is no longer mine, to enjoy entirely for personal reasons, but His, to live and accomplish His mission, in and through me, an earthling extension of Himself. He actually lives in me and I think it’s cool since He is the greatest influence of my mind - my thoughts, choices, and actions.

And the life which I now live in the flesh (body) I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me – I realize the remainder of my earth-life will not be a cake-walk but I know from my own experience that it will be much better than anything I could have ever done on my own. I don’t focus on sinning; I focus on living! But when I sin, I thank Him for having already forgiven me and for setting my feet on His solid footing. I continue to listen and learn as He relates His Love and Life in and through me to others. He is to be trusted as He continues to perform the work He has started in me.

You gotta dance...

I have always wondered who penned these simple, yet wonderful, words. Maybe we have an idea of who that might be. The cool thing is that the last line leads into a truism for those who understand the grace of Christ.

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

William W. Purkey

Heaven is on earth in the form of every believer in whom the spirit of Christ dwells. Our bodies are the "many mansions" or "many rooms" (John 14:2) that make up His place. Just as the tabernacle was the dwelling place of God in the Old Testament, the believer's life (body) is the dwelling place since the cross (death) of Christ (putting into effect the last will and [new] testament of God Himself).

GOD KNEW... SO HE PAID IT ALL

GOD KNEW

God knew… the cost of loving unconditionally.
God knew… the cost of giving with no thought of receiving any return.
God knew… the cost of forgiving sin (disbelief, disobedience).
God knew… the cost of removing the spirit of sin (disbelief, disobedience).
God knew… the cost of providing relationship.
God knew… the cost of experiencing fellowship.
God knew… He would have to pay… so He paid it all.

God knew… Lucifer, in heaven, would disbelieve Him.
God knew… Lucifer craved disengagement – independent-self.
God knew… Lucifer desired to be autonomous – god-like.
God knew… Lucifer was the spirit of sin (disbelief, disobedience).
God knew… Lucifer was seeking to deceive and dictate every human life.
God knew… Lucifer was the father of lies (and liars).
God knew… He would have to pay… so He paid it all.

God knew… Adam, on earth, would disbelieve Him.
God knew… Adam would listen to the serpent-adversary.
God knew… Adam would eat of the tree of knowledge (of good and evil).
God knew… Adam would choose the spirit of sin (disbelief, disobedience) and condemn humanity.
God knew… Adam would fail miserably at living an alternative (another) life.
God knew… Adam was incapable of reconciling or redeeming himself.
God knew… He would have to pay… so He paid it all.

God knew… you would innately disbelieve Him.
God knew… about you before your birth day.
God knew… you were birthed containing the spirit of sin (disbelief, disobedience).
God knew… your innate disbelief would be your condemnation.
God knew… you would fail miserably at living this life.
God knew… you were incapable of reconciling or redeeming yourself.
God knew… He would have to pay… so He paid it all.

God knew… your family would be dysfunctional... so He provided you a functional family!
God knew… you were dysfunctional… so He provided your meaning and purpose!
God knew… you would fail on your own… so He provided for your success!
God knew… you would have questions… so He provided Himself as your Answer!
God knew… you would need forgiveness… so He became your sin and died!
God knew… you would need new life… so He raised from the dead to provide His life!
God knew… He would have to pay… so He paid it all.

God knew… you wouldn’t forgive yourself… so he gave you His example!
God knew… you wouldn’t forgive others… so He gave you forgiveness to share with them!
God knew… you couldn’t keep His commandments… so He kept them all for you!
God knew… you would feel condemned… so He took your condemnation!
God knew… you would be tempted… so He became your victory!
God knew… you couldn’t live the Christian life… so He lives His life IN you!
God knew… so He provided everything you would ever need… for life!

God knew!
